Nina Hansell has been playing English traditional music for more than 35 years and is deeply committed to traditional dance, through morris, clog and providing music for other dancers. Her fiddle playing in The Bismarcks along with the melodeon playing of Ed Rennie and the keyboard playing of Gareth Kiddier kept them at the forefront of English ceilidh dance bands for over ten years filling floors with their strong, rhythmical music.

When she’s not having fun with PolkaWorks, Nina can usually be found in Oxfordshire, playing with dance band the Oxford NAGS, dancing North West Clog Morris with Old Speckled Hen or organising events with Folk Arts Oxford.

She delights audiences with her passion for playing bouncy English tunes – not only do the audience feel the need to dance, she does too!
