Katie Howson has been playing the melodeon since jumping off a bus over 30 years ago to buy one in a junk shop – and thank goodness she did. She is influenced by the older generation of English traditional players and plays one-row and two-row melodeons and mouthorgan. She led the Old Hat Dance Band and the Old Hat Concert Party, leads Katie’s Quartet and is Director of the East Anglian Traditional Music Trust. Her expertise, finesse and love of the music shine through whenever she plays.
